I was thinking, seeing as chat logs can be very invaluable, that there could be a way for the IRCd itself to log chat, events, etc. and be able to be accessed by the channel admin.
Now some networks have a lot of traffic obviously, so having the logs permanently stored on the IRCd server itself wouldn't be such a good idea. But if logging was disabled by default, and deleted say - daily, with the option for before the log is to be deleted to be uploaded to an FTP server of the channel admins choice, that could be a better idea.
That's just a suggestion, and from my experience logs can be very helpful in many circumstances, and as the only person with a 100% accurate logging ability is the daemon itself, it would be better than a user operated logger.
